Finally . . .

The talking heads are now finally calling that the House of Reps will be under Republican control. It's about time. In the almost two years that the Dems have controlled Congress and the Presidency I have grown more than a little weary of hearing liberals drone on and on about the "shifting demographic" in this country. This victory by conservatives shows that this is still a center-right country. This is a victory for those who place common-sense over ideology, those who believe that the Constitution was and is a divinely inspired document that should be defended, and those who believe in limited government intervention into the lives of everyday people. The arrogance of the left has been dealt a blow today but we have much more to do before we can be satisfied. When the new Republican majority is sworn in, I believe that they should have the following priorities:

1. Extend the Bush tax cuts and pledge no tax increases on any individual or business.

2. Work to repeal Obamacare by any means necessary.

3. Secure every inch of our borders.

4. Rollback government spending and tie it to the growth of GDP.

5. Balance the Budget

6. ACT LIKE CONSERVATIVES!

This is only the beginning, and the hard work starts in January.

Arizona Immigration Bill

So the recently passed Illegal Immigration Bill in Arizona has come under some mighty heavy criticism by many in the media and the political left (not sure why I even made that distinction since the two are mutually exclusive!) Having read the Bill I'm puzzled as to what there is to be upset with here. To summarize, the bill compels police officers to verify someones citizenship if that person comes into contact with law enforcement and the officer has a good-faith suspicion that the person may not be in the country legally. So apparently its now racist, fascist, and Nazi-like for a police officer to further question someone who has no identification. Really? Who walks around with no identification?!?! Who wouldn't be a little suspicious of this?

Backing up a little bit . . . maybe I need to re-examine the premise of illegal immigration. I believe that illegal immigration is bad. If someone is in this country and has not followed the proper procedures for being here, they have broken our laws. Again, I think that is a bad thing. I'm beginning to think that people opposed to this Bill and other immigration enforcement efforts do not think this is a bad thing. I know why liberal elected officials don't mind illegal immigration (it creates a huge voting block of people dependent on the government who hypothetically would not vote themselves out of benefits, thus keeping the liberals in power), but I'm stuck on why a normal everyday American wouldn't find someone sneaking into their country illegally even the slightest bit distasteful. I'm sure it has something to do with what I call the "Hippie" mentality I've observed from people on the left. The "Hippie" mentality is the view that life is fair, love is free and we should all just get a long. A bigger bunch of garbage has never been thought.

The long and the short of it is, our current administration and the liberal movement in general are fascist, not this Bill. Secure the border and punish people who break laws. End of story.

The End Of An Era

Well it finally happened. The radical Dems in the house have passed an historic piece of health care legislation. This has to be one of the most historically bad bills that has ever made it through Congress. I think everyone agrees that our health care system needs some changes. But these changes? Really? Forcing all Americans to have some form of health insurance or face penalties? Tax businesses for not offering health insurance to their employees? Taxing those business that do offer excellent "Cadillac" plans? REALLY? What ever happened to freedom? Yes, the era of freedom in America is over . . . for now. It boggles the mind that every poll showed that the people did not want this bill. It goes to show that with this bunch, their radical ideology trumps common sense, the American way, and simple economics. For a group that is so incredibly power hungry it is amazing that they would commit political suicide with their irresponsible, arrogant votes. It truly will be a blood bath in November. They have woken a sleeping giant and there will be a heavy price to pay when the American people get their say. We can only hope that the damage done is not irreparable.
